RC-1 Lathe Drum Channel Strip

LATHE channel strip plugin: gate, transient, EQ, compressor and saturation modules

A one-stop shop for the individual drum track. LATHE puts a gate, transient shaper, seven-node EQ, compressor and saturator on a single panel, and lets you drag them into whatever order the sound calls for. Tighten a kick with a lookahead gate keyed off its own filtered sidechain, pull the snap forward or tuck the ring back with the transient shaper, then carve and lean on it with an EQ and a compressor that switches between Clean, FET, VCA and Opto characters. Finish with Tube, Tape, Transistor or Transformer saturation, oversampled to keep the top end clean. The transient, compressor and saturation stages each have their own mix knob, so parallel tricks don't need a second track.

Meld the kit into the cohesive sound you need, with processing tuned for the whole bus. WELD runs a bus compressor, saturation, EQ, a stereo width stage that folds the low end to mono, and a true-peak lookahead limiter. Short-term LUFS and correlation readouts sit up top so you can see what the glue is doing as well as hear it.
